Start Killing Cats
As part of the gaming course at DIT, we had to come up with artistic flare and programming knowledge of how a game might look and feel. "Start killing Cats" was a mid-year project to develop a simple logical game that would give you the chance to kill cats. Not being a cat lover myself, I relished the chance.
It was a game divided into two parts - easy and hard. The idea was to catch a rotating cat that was flying around the screen while being blocked by four squares, also rotating and flying around the screen in front of the cat. If you hit the cat, the cat lost a life. If you hit a square, you lost a life.
The idea was to kill the cat before you killed yourself and to do it in as little time as possible. Although, not technically difficult to code, it certainly strengthened my coding skills and allowed me to develop as a programmer.
